12-18-06 Update:

It is now official...Mr Justus and Mr Pickman are no longer with the Goodland Energy Center project. Work at the site west of town has all but halted. At one time there were two large cranes assisting in plant construction. About a month ago one of the cranes left the construction site, and on Friday, December 15 as workers walked off the job, the remaining crane was laid down. The workers told a local business owner they walked off because they had not been getting paid by the energy center due to a shortage of funds.

Another interesting detail floating around town is that the used ethanol plant from St Paul couldn't be reassembled here, so new parts were being purchased. If this is true, it is almost comical.
